An exceptional opportunity currently exists for suitably experienced and motivated individuals to join us in our Townsville Clinic in the role of Speech Pathologist. This is a permanent role, and we are open to full-time or part time hours.

Graduate Speech Pathologist commencing 2027 – Rockhampton

Rockhampton

An exciting and varied role, our Speech Pathology graduate program is designed to build on your existing skills, experience and confidence and provide support to grow your speech pathology clinical skills beyond graduation. Our program focuses on providing a quality clinical program to support a range of clients (children and adults) with assessment, diagnosis, therapy and management of all forms of communication disorders.

Graduate speech pathologist program

Hear and Say graduate program is designed to build on your existing skills, experience and confidence. We provide support to grow your clinical skills to take on a clinical caseload with an individualised program for each client.

Opportunities are available to pursue the Listening and Spoken Language (LSL) certification, with a dedicated mentorship program for this speciality.

Opportunities may be available for successful candidates to work part-time as Allied Health Professionals before the commencement of the 2026 graduate program.

What does our graduate program look like?

Comprehensive induction into the company, role and team.
Service delivery support including systems, administration and procedures training.

Dedicated mentoring program for both the speech pathology and listening and spoken language fields.

These programs consist of:

Regular one-on-one mentoring meetings to identify your learning goals, needs and supports.
On-the-job training and where relevant online learning.
Professional development.
Observations and shadowing of experienced speech pathologists and/or listening and spoken language specialists to learn our unique and individually tailored clinical services.
Support across the team including fortnightly team meetings and access to all clinical discipline colleagues across all centres.
Reduced caseload over the first six months to cement your learnings.
Designated case management and clinical administration time.
Access to a wide range of speech pathology assessment and therapy resources.

Student placement

Hear and Say offers student placements in speech pathology, listening and spoken language, and audiology.

These opportunities allow tertiary students to gain an understanding of how a clinical practice is run, gain practical experience as part of their university degree requirements, and receive advice about pursuing a career upon graduation.

We offer student placements in all our centres (Ashgrove, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Rockhampton and Townsville) and availability is determined by operational capacity.

Mandatory requirements

Most student placements will require the following prior to commencement:

A current Blue Card (working with children check) and Yellow Card (disability worker screening). For information on how to obtain these, click here.
Completion of the following NDIS modules:
- Worker Orientation Module ‘Quality, Safety and You’.
- New Worker NDIS Induction Module.
- University insurances and agreements. Human resources can provide advice and information on this if required.
