The Telepractice Camp is a three-day program for Hear and Say families who reside in regional and remote areas.
The camp includes individual listening and spoken language and audiology appointments, social skills groups as well as parent education and support. This is a great opportunity to connect with other Hear and Say families who live regionally.

🌊New Addition to Our Telepractice Program
Wednesday 6th May | 11:30am – 12:00pm (just before lunch)
This hands-on, interactive session is designed to delight and engage children as they explore the wonders of the ocean. Children will have the opportunity to touch and discover real marine creatures, as well as explore shells and pictures. Making it a truly memorable experience.
During the session, children will learn about:
• The colours, patterns, shapes and textures found in ocean animals
• How to handle and care for live animals safely
• The role of shells as protective homes for marine creatures
• Why marine animals look and feel the way they do
• The importance of caring for ocean animals
• How sea creatures breathe and live underwater
• The similarities and differences between sea creatures and humans

10:00am – 12:00pm: LEAP/LLS Playgroups (with Brisbane Families)
Hearing Australia audiologist Chris Flynn will be attending the playgroup and available to provide any hearing aid support, advice, or services.

1:00pm – 2:30pm: Parent Education Session
Presented by OT Leisa Chapman and LSL/Kindy Inclusion Specialist Matt Parr.
Presentation topics will be finalised after registrations close to ensure they are tailored to the needs of attending families.
During this time, a Music Therapist from Music Beat will run a group session for the children.
Parents may keep their children with them for the education session, or staff from Hear and Say will be available to supervise children participating in the Music Beat session.

We are fortunate to have received generous funding that will pay for one adult and one child’s travel and accommodation per family. Any additional family members who wish to attend will need to be self-funded.
Individual appointments will be funded through your NDIS plan. For families with children who have cochlear implants and are attending audiology appointments during the camp, Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme (PTSS) funding will be used for travel.
A member of our Business Support Team and your clinician will be in contact to see if you require travel and accommodation bookings and will organise on your behalf. You are of course also welcome to make your own arrangements should you wish to stay with family or friends for example.
Lunch will be provided each day for both parents and children.
We’ll be offering a selection of sandwiches, child‑friendly snacks, and tea and coffee. If you or your child have any dietary requirements, please let us know so we can accommodate you.
This shared lunchtime is a wonderful opportunity for families to meet each other, connect, and take a break between appointments. Our staff will also pop by to say hello throughout the lunch period.
With a number of families visiting all at once, your listening and spoken language lesson may not be with your usual therapist. They will be around the building though and would love to say hello in the breaks.
